Is poverty a curse or a boon? I have heard people saying ‘Poverty is a curse ‘ . Is poverty really a curse? I have seen people emerging from poverty. There are many world-famous personalities who consider their poverty the reason for their success. In India, for example, Dhirubhai Ambani, founder of Reliance Company, was not always a millionaire, but it was due to his hard life he became inspired to lay the foundation of the great empire of Reliance Company. Many great writers and poets were poor in the beginning, but their poverty gave them great inspiration for their writing.
Difficult time had brought out the best they had within them . Due to their poverty , they had very little time to spend in vain . They always thought to create some thing new . They were always eager to create some thing productive . They had not utilized their hard-earned money for luxurious pleasures .
Rich children mostly have different circles of friends. They spend their much of their time enjoying luxurious lives. They are affluent, so they don’t find need to do something innovative. The urge to search something new get mostly killed . So I feel poverty is not a curse ; but it is an inspiration to do something great , something innovative .Poverty teaches us how to struggle .
It teaches us the value of time and money. Poor people are mostly punctual because they don’t have extra funds to afford the means of transport. They are more disciplined because they don’t have money to pay the fines. Poverty, therefore, encourages discipline .
